Introduction
The Discourse boards and Matrix chat servers are a virtual third space for t/suki users. While the focus of these spaces is games and game development, the forums are generally open for community members to discuss anything else they're passionate about, including art, media, tech, amongst other topics. We ask that users
This Code of Conduct has been created by the Community Circle to ensure our digital community enables game developers, games enthusiasts, and creators to connect with each other in a safe, welcoming environment. This Code of Conduct will be updated as needed. to ensure it aligns with our Sociocratic Mission and Vision statements.
- No Promotion/Endorsement of Racism, Transphobia, Sexism, Homophobia, Ableism, or Xenophobia: Hatred and overgeneralization of marginalized groups is antithetical to creating a safe space for the marginalized members of our community. While discussion of these issues by affected group members is permissible, particularly within the contexts of games and game development, promotion or endorsement of these views is explicitly prohibited on t/suki, and will result in enforcement actions from moderators.
- No Personal Attacks: Discussions should focus on the topic being discussed, not the community members discussing it, particularly when disagreeing with an ongoing discussion. Name calling, ad hominems, and knee-jerk contradictions to posts are not conducive to a positive, welcoming community environment.
- No Cryptocurrencies/NFTs: Posts designed to drive investment in speculative digital currencies or assets are explicitly forbidden in all forms.
- No Excessive Trauma Dumping: Repeated oversharing of personal struggles and negative emotions is not permitted. While we are sympathetic to the challenges life presents, we encourage users who are struggling to build support networks in their lives and share these issues with those networks.
- AI Policy: AI is a contentious topic, and requires a nuanced approach due to shifting norms across disciplines. Although meta discussion of AI is generally allowed, it is important to note the following restrictions:
- No AI generated Art/Assets/Music/Text/Voiceover: Posting of AI generated art, 2d/3d assets, music, audio, text, or voiceovers is not permitted. This includes posts that repost content generated by chat tools (ex: ChatGPT says…). These categories of AI Generated Content are diametrically opposed to the creative community we are building on t/suki. Games made using this content are similarly restricted from discussion on t/suki.
- No Promotion/Endorsement of AI Tools/Products: Advocating for the use of AI tools and products is also explicitly disallowed for the reasons stated above.
- AI Generated Code Labeling: Code/games/tools made using code generation tools such as Cursor is permitted, but must be tagged (#AIcode) and labeled in the post as such.
- Procedurally Generated Content: Procedurally generated content made using non LLM based tools (such as those employed in Dwarf Fortress, Rogue, Etc) is welcome.
- Self Promotion/Spam Policy: Self promotion is allowed (and encouraged!). Please post your projects in the show-off category! Spam is defined as excessive (multiple posts a day, only posting about your own projects) self promotion without interacting with the community at large. Spam is not allowed, and will result in moderator actions.
- NSFW Policy: NSFW posts are restricted to the NSFW forum category. Posts must be made within this category, or will be subject to deletion. Repeated NSFW posting outside of the designated category will result in enforcement actions from moderators.
- Enforcement: Moderators have a variety of levels of response available to them, including warnings, removal/retagging of posts, suspensions, or community bans. All decisions are at the discretion of the moderation team, and are not subject to appeal.
