- New questions for the Code of Conduct were explored:
- What is and isn't postable/topical?
- How do we handle "trauma dumping"?
- Answers to new and discussed questions were raised:
- Who resolves Code of Conduct disputes?
- Code of Conduct will be amended via rounds on the circle meetings
- What ideas/ideologies do we consider harmful?
- Promotion of racism, sexism, bigotry and ableism will not be tolerated
- What is and isn't postable/topical?
- Excessive personal discussions, spamming or crypto is not topical to the forum
- Response to off-topic discussion should be simple deletion or re-tagging rather than lasting punishment
- What is our AI policy?
- AI art or music will be banned in general
- A forum post will be opened before deciding on the range of accepted usage of AI
- What is our advertizing policy?
- As long as the person is engaging in the community, promotion should be allowed
- Lurkers should not be punished for their lack of "activity"
- What is our NSFW policy?
- Post regarding sensitive topics (Gore/Sexual(Nudity/Suggestive/Pornographic)/"Disturbing content"(Self Harm, Suicidal Ideation...)) should be tagged (content warnings) and any depictions within the post should be spoiler tagged or hidden by default
- Artistic depiction of NSFW content should be lenient, such as in queer media
- Users should be directed to the "Tracking" setting where they can show or hide specific tags from the UI
- There will be an inquiry to Tech Circle regarding the implementation of systems above
- How do we handle "trauma dumping"?
- There should be a policy regarding sharing personal/private information
- With the commitment to announce the meeting date earlier, the when2meet policy from 2 meetings ago has been renewed for another 2 months
Notes:
- A draft for the Code of Conduct will be written until the next meeting, and any resources or suggestions will be sent asynchronously through the circle chatroom
- Shuffling the turn order as suggested last meeting has not been done for this meeting
Backlogged Agenda for Next Meeting:
- Discussions for bullet points is not complete, as we had limited number of attendance
- Policies regarding marginalized groups were underdiscussed and needs further exploration
- The stance on promotion of projects using AI code or AI code editor (such as Cursor) within the forum has not been decided
- What is "engaging in the community" has not been defined
- Point was raised to have a separate treatment for depiction of assault/sexual violence but the specific policy has not been defined
- Decide whether to have a separate text channel for community circle (from last meeting)
- Discuss when and how to explore asynchronous options for decisionmaking for community circle (from last meeting)
